Meet Polaris—aka Polly—a 2-to-3-year-old American Bulldog mix with a stocky build, a big personality, and even bigger cuddles to give! After leaving a loud southern shelter, she’s thriving in Massachusetts, showing off her goofy, affectionate, and downright hilarious personality. Polly warms up quickly to new people (especially if treats are involved—she’s a big foodie!) and would love a lower-traffic home that provides structure and boundaries to help her be her best self.
“Hi! It’s me, Polaris, aka POLLY. I am so happy to be here and looking for my forever home! I came up from the south not too long ago, and thank goodness because that loud shelter was really starting to bug me. So far, I have shown to be the cutest, sweetest, funniest, and silliest! I can be a LITTLE nervous of new people, however, I get over it quite fast with some time and good treats (big food girl). The humans think I am between 2-3 years old and some sort of American Bulldog mix. I am stocky, strong, and absolutely gorgeous. I mean, have you seen my close up? I do well in my hard crate, walk nicely on my cool slip lead, and would do best in a lower traffic home that would continue to enforce boundaries with me to keep my cute self in line! Did I mention how funny I am???
I am a huge cuddle bug and don’t love being alone for too long, so I really hope that my future family spends more time at home than not. I was exposed to a small person recently and WOW, I fell in love! I took treats from her super gently and sat in front of her to show good manners. She was the cutest two year old I ever did see! My trainers think I would adore having a child sibling. I am still working on my dog sociability because my trainers claim I need to learn better ‘manners.’ I mean, apparently partying like I am in a mosh pit isn’t always acceptable to other dogs. LAME! I think I could live with another dog if we had a nice meet and greet and my new humans continued training with me. I am being in fostered in Salem and attend school in Peabody. Please please please come meet me!!!”
If you think Polly could be a good fit for you, please fill out our adoption application to set up a date with this gorgeous girl. She is a lovely dog who will make a family very happy. Continued training with our training team is always suggested. Polly comes with a free training session with us, two leashes, and her dog bed. She would require a hard crate as she does best in a crate that is more sturdy and enclosed. Set up your date with Polly today!
Every application is carefully reviewed. To ensure that Bria finds the perfect homes for the dogs that she rescues, she will follow up only with applicants who are believed to be a great match for each individual dog. Applications are not considered on first come, first serve basis. She considers various factors such as the applicant’s lifestyle, living situation, and their ability to provide a safe and caring environment for any and all dogs.
Bria prioritizes applicants who show a genuine interest in providing a loving and forever home to the dogs in her rescue. While it is understood that every applicant has good intentions, resources are limited and the focus must be on those who best align with each dogs’ specific needs.
